PULA, Nov 21 (Hina) - The Adriatic Euro-Region's Adriatic Council convened for its second session in Ancona, Italy, on Tuesday, gathering representatives of the Croatian and Italian governments, the Council of Europe, Croatian
counties on the Adriatic and other regions connected by this sea, Istria County prefect Ivan Jakovcic's office said in a statement.
PULA, Nov 21 (Hina) - The Adriatic Euro-Region's Adriatic Council
convened for its second session in Ancona, Italy, on Tuesday, gathering
representatives of the Croatian and Italian governments, the Council of Europe,
Croatian counties on the Adriatic and other regions connected by this sea,
Istria County prefect Ivan Jakovcic's office said in a statement.
The session, chaired by Adriatic Council president Jakovcic, appointed the
executive and supervisory committees and formed six commissions -- on
fisheries, transport and infrastructure, the environment, tourism and culture,
and the economy.
Croatia's Zadar County will chair the fisheries commission and
Primorje-Gorski Kotar County the transport and infrastructure commission.
The session also adopted the Adriatic Euro-Region's programme and
guidelines for next year.
This Euro-Region was set up in Pula, a Croatian port in the northern
Adriatic, on June 30. It comprises the Adriatic regions in Croatia, Albania,
Montenegro, Slovenia and Italy.
