Mostar University head Frano Ljubic said on Wednesday that Zagreb had allocated 180 million kuna for the first stage of construction of the campus and that the foundation-stone laying ceremony could be expected at the end of December or the start of January.
The first stage of construction works should be completed until mid-2008 and all works in 2010.
The other half of the sum will be made available in late 2007.
Three consortiums from Croatia offered tenders for constructing the campus, and the Split-based Brodomerkur was selected as the best bidder.
However, another competing tenderer appealed against the decision and and the appeals procedure is under way, Ljubic said.
All tenderers were from Croatia as the Croatian government set it as a condition that the contractor should be from Croatia.
