The Main Committee also adopted documents to prepare the HSS for next year's parliamentary elections and nominated a national election committee chaired by HSS leader Josip Friscic as well as election committees for 10 constituencies.
Friscic said he would continue partnership talks with other centre parties, including the People's Party (HNS).
"I am confident that a centre bloc will be formed, comprising parties which will cooperate before elections, and there are partners with which it is possible to agree post-election cooperation as well."
Asked by the press if there would be HSS-HSLS pre-election cooperation, Friscic said it was difficult to set a uniform model in 10 constituencies but the two parties' election committees would discuss possible cooperation.
"We will first agree platforms and then adjust in terms of personnel, he said.
Friscic said the most important cooperation issues for the HSS were the stance toward privatisation, the protection of the sea through the activation of the protected ecology and fishing zone in the Adriatic, the fiscal decentralisation of the country, and a programme to revive agriculture.
Friscic supported President Stjepan Mesic's initiative to punish war profiteers and return Croatian money from foreign accounts.
He said it was possible to reach a consensus on the passing of a law punishing war profiteering.
"I am not an optimist about finding enormous amounts of money on some accounts because I believe the majority of the money has already disappeared from (them), but this is a way to make citizens optimistic again and confirm that we are a law-based state," said Friscic.
