The event, which closes on October 15, was opened by Croatian Agriculture and Forestry Minister Petar Cobankovic, who said that headway had been made in recent years towards increasing the competitiveness of the wood and furniture industries because they were strategic branches of the Croatian economy.
Cobankovic said his ministry was encouraging the wood sector's competitiveness with a series of measures, recalling the adoption of the Wood Industry Development Strategy and the Industrial Wood Processing Operative Programme.
This year's Ambienta is taking place on 45.000 square metres of exhibition premises. It will feature a series of conferences and round-table discussions.
