The two officials stated that Croatia and Iran had developed friendly relations, with Biscevic thanking the Iranian ambassador for his contribution to the development of those relations during his four-year term.
Croatia is actively following the situation with the Iranian nuclear programme, Biscevic said, adding that this issue had become one of the main challenges in current international relations.
As a candidate for EU membership, Croatia shares the EU's policy on that matter and calls for more intensive political dialogue, expecting Iran to demonstrate openness and readiness to settle the issue, Biscevic said.
Ambassador Shamsian said that he had established cordial relations in Croatia both on the official and unofficial levels. He underlined his good cooperation with the Croatian government and bodies of state administration, adding that so far Croatia and Iran had signed more than 20 agreements.
