Grabar-Kitarovic said that apart from a short-lasting cease-fire between Israel and Hezbollah, a long-term solution for the solving of the Israel-Palestine conflict was also necessary, stressing that this was the most important source of instability in the Middle East.
"We believe that harmonised actions of the entire international community were necessary so as to ensure cease-fire and enable the renewal of political negotiations on permanent peace in Lebanon, as a sovereign democratic state, and the security of Israel," the minister said.
She said the permanent solution meant that Israel be given the right to peace and security and Palestinians to be given the right to their own stable country.
She said Croatia called on other countries in the region to to help stop escalation of violence.
The talks also focused on a number of international policy issues, such as the Iranian nuclear crisis. She said Croatia supported the EU policy towards Iran and efforts to solve the nuclear issue which burden Iran's relationship with the EU and the international community.
Asked if President Mesic would officially visit the United states, Grabar-Kitarovic said boh countries were interested in the visit.
