In the night between Friday and Saturday, Zoran Povic aka Pova, a member of the Zemun mob clan who was on the run after the assassination of Serbian Prime Minister Zoran Djindjic in March 2003, was found dead in downtown Belgrade.
The police found on the body documents belonging to Zoran Vukojevic aka Vuk, who turned state's evidence in the trial of Djindjic's assassins.
This afternoon, the police found a second, burnt body on the outskirts of the city. The identity of the victim is still not known but the attorney for Vukojevic said in an interview with Television B92 that his client disappeared on Saturday morning and that his mother believed that he had been kidnapped because the door to his flat was unlocked and his new car parked in front of his home.
The police today also discovered a burnt car which they believe was used by the perpetrators.
