VARNA, May 19 (Hina) - Croatian President Stjepan Mesic had several bilateral meetings with other heads of state on the margins of a summit of presidents of Central European countries that took place in the Bulgarian Black Sea resort of Varna on Friday.

Talks with Slovakian President Ivan Gasparovic focused on Croatia's aspirations to join the European Union and on growing economic cooperation between the two countries.
