PRISTINA, April 19 (Hina) - The Organisation for Security and
Cooperation in Europe Mission in Pristina has approved the work of a new Kosovo
Serb political party, the Independent Liberal Party (SLS), while renowned
businessman Bexhet Pacolli's Alliance for the New Kosovo (AZNK) has completed
the documentation necessary for the party's registration. SLS
president Slobodan Petrovic said on Wednesday he would represent and protect
the interests of Serbs in and out of Kosovo, while respecting the human, civic
and democratic values of all Kosovo citizens. He underlined that his party
would have a multiethnic character.
Petrovic said the SLS would accept the solution to Kosovo's status that
would be agreed in Pristina-Belgrade negotiations.
The OSCE Mission informed Pacolli's AZNK that the decision on the
party's registration would be made in 14 days. In its platform, the party says
it advocates political pluralism and parliamentary democracy, the exercise of
civil rights, and independence for Kosovo.
