PRISTINA, April 16 (Hina) - A US special envoy for negotiations onKosovo status, Frank Wisner, said during his visit to the VisokiDecani Monastery on Saturday evening that the protection of religiousand cultural monuments in Kosovo
was an obligation of theinternational community, as well as local communities which shouldinvest more efforts into establishing trust.
PRISTINA, April 16 (Hina) - A US special envoy for negotiations on
Kosovo status, Frank Wisner, said during his visit to the Visoki Decani
Monastery on Saturday evening that the protection of religious and cultural
monuments in Kosovo was an obligation of the international community, as well
as local communities which should invest more efforts into establishing
trust. By visiting the monastery, Wisner ended the programme of his
two-day visit to Kosovo during which he got acquainted with the situations of
different communities and the solving of the future Kosovo status.
The US official also visit the multiethnic municipality of Prizren and
praised progress this southern Kosovo municipality achieved in exercising
minority rights.
During his visit to Kosovo, the US official held talks with senior
Kosovo officials, Kosovo Serbs leaders and representatives of other ethnic
communities. Later today Wisner will travel to Belgrade after which he is
scheduled to visit Skopje and Tirana.
