PULA/ZAGREB, April 7 (Hina) - Italian Union leader Maurizio Tremul
has voiced satisfaction with the turnout of members of the Italian minority in
Croatia for elections for the 15th Italian parliament, saying that the turnout
was around 70 percent. "If that, still unofficial information, is
correct, I can really be satisfied with the turnout given that this is the
first time in history that Italians living abroad could elect their 12 deputies
and six senators," Tremul told Hina.
The Italian Embassy in Zagreb said that the turnout in Croatia was
66.59 percent. Members of the Italian minority voted by postal ballot, and the
voting was completed at 4 pm on April 7.
Parliamentary elections in Italy will be held on Sunday and Monday.
