MOSTAR, April 7 (Hina) - Assistant US Secretary for the Bureau of
European and Eurasian Affairs Daniel Fried has expressed satisfaction because
the authorities in Bosnia-Herzegovina recently took measures to strip Islamic
extremist of citizenship which they gained contrary to Bosnian laws.
Fried said this to Voice of America, which was cited by local Croat television
in Mostar on Thursday evening
A significant share of Islamic soldiers, namely members of the Djihad
movement, were involved in the war in Bosnia, the US official said, adding that
some of them stayed in Bosnia and that they represented a potential
problem.
This problem is not a priority for the United States, but it must be
monitored because Bosnian legal institutions are not developed enough, Fried
said.
