Grabar Kitarovic stressed Croatia's commitment to joining Euro-Atlantic associations and thanked Voinovich on the US Senate's support to Croatia's receiving an invitation for NATO as soon as possible, the statement said.
The minister said Croatia expected the Senate and Voinovich to continue supporting NATO's enlargement and the admission of Southeast European countries into Euro-Atlantic association.
Grabar Kitarovic stressed Croatia's commitment to implement reforms necessary for NATO membership. She also underlined Croatia's active role in the stabilisation in Southeast Europe and said she was confident Croatia could play an important role in securing peace and stability in the region.
Senator Voinovich expressed satisfaction with Croatia's role and praised the country's efforts and initiatives aimed at solving issues in Southeast Europe.
Grabar Kitarovic informed Senator Voinovich of Croatia's EU membership talks and the country's initiative to enlarge CEFTA and expand regional cooperation, the statement said.
