Deputies adopted the amendments under which the deadline for the preparation of elections is shortened from 170 to 150 days, which gives an extra month for a parliamentary debate on constitutional amendments and their going into effect.
The final deadline for announcing the date of the elections has been moved to 5 May and political parties will have 30 days instead of two months, as it has been the case so far, for an official election campaign.
Deputies did not adopt a proposal under which the election threshold should have been raised from the existing three to four percent of the vote.
