The conference pooled tourism ministers and state secretaries from European Union member states, candidate countries - Bulgaria, Romania, Croatia and Turkey, western Balkan countries, and representatives of the World Tourism Organisation.
European Commission Vice President Guenther Verheugen launched a joint European Internet web site - visiteurope.com - which contains tourist information about all European countries.
A state secretary at the Croatian Ministry of the Sea, Tourism, Transport and Development, Zdenko Micic, who led Croatia's delegation at the event, said the conference was successful.
"The conference was brief, but very substantial. It gave many answers about the development of cultural tourism," Micic said.
