According to a press release issued by the council, the body insists on the engagement of Bosniak representatives in Kosovo status talks at all levels. The council also supports the "historic aspirations of the Albanian people of Kosovo for self-determination".
According to the council's founding charter, Kosovo Bosniaks belong to the the Bosniak national entity, whose motherland is Bosnia-Herzegovina, mother-tongue the Bosnian language, with majority of members being Islamic faithful.
According to some estimate, there are 50,000 Bosniaks in Kosovo, who insist on being educated in their mother language and on having radio stations which would air programmes in Bosnian, too.
