ZAGREB, March 10 (Hina) - The chairman of the Croatian parliament'scommittee on human and minority rights, Furio Radin, on Fridayreceived for talks Iranian parliament deputy speaker Georg Vartan, theparliament's public relations
service said in a statement.
ZAGREB, March 10 (Hina) - The chairman of the Croatian
parliament's committee on human and minority rights, Furio Radin, on Friday
received for talks Iranian parliament deputy speaker Georg Vartan, the
parliament's public relations service said in a statement. The two
officials discussed multiculturalism and interreligious dialogue in parliament,
as well as the structure of the two parliaments.
Radin spoke about the importance of religious and ethnic tolerance,
adding that the presence of minorities enriched countries.
Vartan, who represents Christian minorities in the parliament, said
that Iran had a long tradition of tolerance towards religious minorities which
had been built for centuries.
Radin called for the continuation of cooperation between their
parliaments.
