Bebic and the Chinese guests agreed that since the establishment of diplomatic relations 18 years ago, the two countries had steadily promoted their relations.
They also expressed a wish to further enhance the good friendly cooperation between Croatia and China with an emphasis on intensifying cooperation between parliamentary committees, reads the statement.
Simayi Tieliwaerdi was quoted as saying that China attached great importance to relations with Croatia, which he described as China's leading partner in southeastern Europe.
He also said that his country was recording a rise in trade with Croatia.
We can additionally improve cooperation in tourism, culture and education, the Chinese official said.
Bebic spoke about possibilities for the two governments to cooperate in infrastructure projects, such as the construction of a railway connecting Rijeka and Zagreb, and in projects boosting cooperation between Croatian and Chinese seaports.
The Chinese delegation was also received by Croatian President Ivo Josipovic. The president spoke about possibilities for joint investments in production and called on Chinese tourists to visit Croatia.
During its official visit, the Chinese delegation will tour Kumrovec, Dubrovnik and the Plitvice Lakes.
