Ratko Mladic was arrested in Belgrade on Tuesday afternoon, the Serbian news
agency Tanjug said citing a report from the TV BN station from Bijeljina in
Bosnia and Herzegovina. The news of the arrest has not been
confirmed yet. Tanjug said the television station reported that Mladic had been
taken into custody in Belgrade and that he would be transferred to the UN war
crimes tribunal in The Hague via Tuzla, Bosnia.
Tanjug's news was also carried by Reuters and the Sky and Euronews TV
stations, but all said the information about the arrest was unofficial and
unconfirmed.
