The Vucedol archaeological site is an unavoidable place of European history and culture, Croatian Culture Minister Bozo Biskupic said at the opening ceremony.
According to archaeologists, the site of Vucedol contains artefacts of settlements from the third century before Christ. Vucedol culture, the first farming culture to exist in Europe, flourished between 3000 and 2200 BC. Their copper metallurgy was based on a new process of mass casting. This culture had a great influence on other contemporary cultures in the European heritage.
The exhibition will be open until 2 April.
