BELGRADE, Jan 16 (Hina) - Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav
Kostunica and representatives of the ethnic Croats' national council in
Serbia-Montenegro on Monday held talks in Belgrade and agreed that the
improvement of the position of the Croat minority in Serbia and the Serb
minority in Croatia would contribute to the development of good-neighbourly
relations between the two countries. According to a press release
issued by the Serbian government, participants in the meeting agreed that the
two countries' efforts to join European integration processes had contributed
to the start of a completely new stage in the Croatian-Serbian relations.
The Belgrade talks also focused on the ethnic Croats' rights in the
area of the public media and school system.
They discussed the possibility of intensifying contacts between the
minority's representatives with Serbian institutions in a bid to implement
projects in culture and cross-border cooperation.
