The head of the Clinical Hospital Centre (KBC), Miodrag Djurovic, said at a news conference on Tuesday morning that 184 people were kept for treatment in that hospital, of whom 14 in intensive care.
A total of 90 children were admitted to the Children's Hospital and 34 were kept for treatment.
The accident took place about ten kilometres north of Podgorica when the train derailed and plunged several dozen metres into the Moraca river canyon.
Jusuf Kalamperovic said that the accident occurred because of a failure of the train's braking system.
The Montenegrin government was in emergency session overnight, declaring three days of mourning in the republic.
Transport Minister Andrija Lompar resigned, as did the entire management of the national rail company.
Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic visited the injured passengers at the KBC during the night. He said that Croatian President Stjepan Mesic, Serbian Prime Minister Boris Tadic and President Vojislav Kostunica had offered assistance.
