Slavonia and Baranja Television on January 12 received a request to hand over the recording of Djapic's news conference that was shown in the November 25 "Tema dana" programme and the deadline for its hand-over expires on Tuesday, by which time it will be given to Osijek County Court investigating judge Mario Kovac, the station's director, Damir Junusic, told Hina.
Djapic said today that he would give an interview for the TV station on Monday to respond to what he called political and media attacks against him and his attempts to oppose a campaign portraying Osijek as a trouble city regarding the war-time events.
"If I am stripped of immunity as a member of parliament, the parliament
will have to open a debate on all events and speak openly about what is behind
the political and media campaign regarding events in Osijek in 1991 and 1992,"
Djapic said yesterday.
Slavonia and Baranja Television had so far
been refusing to hand over the recording with Djapic's news conference.
Osijek County Prosecutor Davor Petricevic said yesterday that he could not speculate about anyone's guilt until he saw the recording and carried out a thorough investigation, after which his office would issue a statement.
