The Internet site "www.domagojmargetic.com" was closed on Thursday on the basis of a court order after Margetic posted on it a recording with a protected testimony of Croatian President Stjepan Mesic at the Hague war crimes tribunal in the trial of Bosnian Croat general Tihomir Blaskic.
Speaking to reporters on Friday, Margetic said that the closure of his web site was the first case of closure of a medium in democratic Croatia, which he described as a police state.
"The unlawful decision to search my parents' house and confiscate my computers was made after a meeting between Prime Minister Sanader, the Minister of the Interior and the police director," Margetic said.
Margetic also claimed that the Hague tribunal's prosecution had requested the issuing of a warrant for his arrest, which he said had been dismissed by Chief State Prosecutor Mladen Bajic.
