ZAGREB, Sept 13 (Hina) - Banco Popolare Croatia and the Croatian Bank
for Reconstruction and Development (HBOR) have signed an agreement on
business cooperation within an HBOR-managed loan programme called
"Mikrokreditiranje (Micro-Lending)" for loans, in the total amount of
EUR 4.5 million, to be granted to micro, small and medium-sized
enterprises and other entities that meet criteria and standards set up
by the European Union.
The funds are part of a EUR 20-million agreement between HBOR and KfW Banking for 2010, designed to encourage the development of small and medium-sized companies, Banco Popolare Croatia said in a statement on Monday.
The programme envisages two sorts of loans: lending for working capital with individual loans up to EUR 30,000 and investment loans up to EUR 250,000.
