Grabar-Kitarovic presented Croatia's foreign policy priorities - accession to the European Union and NATO, cooperation in the region and bilateral cooperation with neighbours, and Croatia's position in the international community and organisations.
The minister also briefed the US delegation about the pace and current state of EU membership negotiations and the development of relations with NATO.
Speaking about cooperation with neighbours, Grabar-Kitarovic said outstanding issues should be settled bilaterally and by fully respecting international law.
The talks also addressed Croatia's candidacy for nonpermanent membership of the UN Security Council in the 2008-09 period, Croatia's active participation in the work of other UN bodies as well as in the peace mission in Afghanistan.
The minister informed the delegation of the recent establishment of the Regional Cooperation Council and the future role of the South East European Cooperation Process.
The two sides also exchanged views on the current situation in the region, with special emphasis on the settlement of the Kosovo status issue.
Grabar-Kitarovic said Croatia believed the settlement of this issue should ensure the stability of the wider region.
