ZAGREB, July 17 (Hina) - Croatia's tourism has reached its limits
in the development phase so the competent bodies will draw up a thorough
analysis of the current situation which will serve as the foundation for a new
strategy and the programme of measures for the tourist sector, reporters heard
after Tuesday's meeting between Prime Minister Ivo Sanader and member of his
cabinet and the leaders of the Croatian Employers' Association. The
government will continue to implement large infrastructure projects such as the
construction works on the highway to Ploce and Dubrovnik and the construction
of the Rijeka-Zagreb dual-carriage way, PM Sanader said, adding that the
Istrian Y road would also be a highway.
The plan is to transform the Istrian Y into a highway, but this is the
plan for the next term in office, he said.
Both the PM and the president of the Employers' Association, Damir
Kustrak, agree that new steps are necessary in the tourism sector.
