ZAGREB, June 15 (Hina) - The Glas HR (Voice Croatia) trade union federation opened in Zagreb on Friday the Glas HR Institute for Labour and Industry Relations, which is expected to advance the relationship between workers and employers.

Speaking at the opening, Prime Minister Ivo Sanader supported the Institute's future activity, saying it would bring a new quality to tripartism, social partnership and dialogue between employers, the government and trade unions.

He said that if voters supported the incumbent government at elections later this year, it would continue with the practice of regular meetings with trade unions and employers.

Sanader recalled that the 2003 Government Act joined the labour and economy ministries to show that those two departments were not opposed and had the same task.

Glas HR president Boris Kunst voiced confidence the Institute would advance the relationship between labour and enterprise, which he said was currently not satisfactory. He added that an international survey ranked Croatia 96th among 104 countries in this field.
