Osijek County prefect Kresimir Bubalo said last year's trade between the county and Italy was US$ 242 million and that numerous projects were under way. Plans include cooperating with several Italian regions so as to draw as much money from European pre-accession funds as possible through the Regional Development Agency and Office in Brussels, which Osijek County opened this year, he added.
In attendance was also Italian Ambassador Alessandro Grafini. Tuesday's conference was organised by the Italian Embassy, the Zagreb branch of the Italian Foreign Trade Institute and the Advisory Committee of Italian Enterprise in Croatia, in cooperation with the city and county of Osijek.
An exhibition of photographs by Franco Franceschi was opened in the Osijek hotel after the press conference.
