He opened Serbia's new general consulate and confirmed that the new Vojislav Kostunica cabinet would insist on special relations with Republika Srpska (RS).
"We will talk about that in Belgrade as early as next week, when RS officials arrive there," said Jeremic.
RS Prime Minister Milorad Dodik took the opportunity to hand Jeremic a request that he be granted Serbian citizenship. "I expect this to be settled urgently," he said.
Responding to questions from the press, Dodik said that for him the Bosnian Serb entity remained a "permanent category" and that he would not agree to any reform that would bring into question the entity's existing powers.
