The first day of the conference, entitled "Croatian waters and the European Union - Challenges and possibilities", focused on Croatia's water management strategy.
The water management strategy has been harmonised with EU directives and will serve as a basis for the preparation of negotiating positions and the use of pre-accession funds.
The fundamental aim of the strategy is to ensure sufficient quantities of drinking water and water for industrial purposes, anti-flooding protection and environmental protection.
