ZAGREB, May 11 (Hina) - Southeast European countries want a permanently stable region and wish to finally join Euro-Atlantic associations, Croatian Prime Minister Ivo Sanader said at a dinner party given on the occasion of the Southeast European Cooperation Process (SEECP) summit on Thursday evening.

"In the spirit of wisdom of the 50 successful years of the European Union - half a century of peace, security, cooperation and progress - we want to build a permanent political stability in Southeast Europe," Sanader said in a toast at the dinner party in Zagreb's Mimara Museum which gathered top officials of the regional countries, the Unites States, representatives of the EU, NATO and other international organisations.

Sanader said that the countries of the region that had not yet joined the EU and NATO wanted to joined the Euro-Atlantic associations and that SEECP member countries expect that cooperation would accelerate the integration process.

"We know what we need to do, we must continue implementing reforms, preparing our institutions and society for the adoption and implementation fo top democracy and rule of law standards, help the solving of the remaining outstanding issues and promote cooperation," Sanader said.

He also expressed hope the EU would very soon reach an agreement on enlargement.

SEECP member states are Croatia, Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Greece, Macedonia, Moldova, Romania, Serbia and Turkey. At today's summit Montenegro should be admitted into this regional association as a full member.
