The international festival, which will last by 18 September, will show nine feature films and 37 short films in the main competition.
The Special Festival Award 2010 for the outstanding contribution to the artistic development of the moving image will be given film director Miklos Jancso from Hungary.
The festival also includes the presentation of documentaries, "the Week of the Netherlands" with an emphasis on the Dutch film industry as well as workshops and lectures.
