ZAGREB, April 11 (Hina) - Croatia's current account deficit in 2006 amounted to EUR 2.6 billion, reaching 7.7% of the GDP projected for last year, according to preliminary data released by the Croatian National Bank.

2006 amounted to EUR 2.6 billion, reaching 7.7% of the GDP projected for last
year, according to preliminary data released by the Croatian National Bank.For the second year in a row, the current account deficit continued
growing, going up EUR 632 million from 2005, when its share in GDP was 6.4%.
The current account deficit of 7.7% of GDP is nevertheless slightly
below previous estimates which forecast a deficit exceeding 8% of GDP.
