SARAJEVO, March 30 (Hina) - Croatian Prime Minister Ivo Sanader in Sarajevo on Thursday evening held a meeting behind closed doors with the presidents of the Croatian Democratic Union of Bosnia-Herzegovina (HDZ BiH) and the Croatian Democratic Union 1990 (HDZ 1990), Dragan Covic and Bozo Ljubic respectively.

After the talks Sanader, Ljubic and Covic told reporters that they agreed that the two parties in Bosnia needed to establish a closer cooperation so as to improve the position of the Croat people in Bosnia and to be able to make a joint position for the coming debates on constitutional reforms.

Last year, Ljubic left the HDZ BiH over disagreements with Covic and founded his own party - the HDZ 1990.

After the talks, Sanader said he was satisfied with the fact that Covic and Ljubic agreed on future cooperation between their parties.

Asked if the two Croatian Democratic Unions in Bosnia would unite, Sanader, Ljubic and Covic told reporters that they do not rule out this possibility

The Croatian PM stressed that the programme of the HDZ from Croatia was similar to those of the two HDZs in Bosnia.
