In cooperation with the World Bank, the Croatian government is preparing the "Internal Waters" project which will finance investments in water supply, wastewater drainage and flood protection in the Sava, Drava and Danube river basins, said Cobankovic.
"Croatia expects the World Bank's support in the realisation of this big and important infrastructure project," he added.
Katsu and Cobankovic were accompanied by representatives of Croatian Waters and the Lonjsko Polje Nature Park, who acquainted Katsu with the flood prevention system in this unique alluvial area in Europe.
Katsu said he was impressed by what he had seen, underlining that nature protection projects deserved support.
