SLAVONSKI BROD, March 10 (Hina) - The Croatian Party of Rights (HSP) will run independently in all 10 constituencies in parliamentary elections later this year, party president Anto Djapic told the press on Saturday.

Speaking in a break of a session of the HSP Main Committee in the eastern town of Slavonski Brod, Djapic refuted media speculation about the party's pre-election cooperation on the state level with the Social Liberals (HSLS) and the Peasant Party (HSS).

Commenting on current political events, Djapic said the HSP was pleased with recent statements by some European Union leaders to the effect that Croatia and Slovenia should go to international arbitration to settle their sea border dispute.

He reproached the government, saying it failed to find its feet after the International Court of Justice ruling in Bosnia and Herzegovina's genocide lawsuit against Serbia, and criticised the uncoordinated statements of the president and the prime minister on whether Croatia had talked with Serbia about withdrawing its genocide lawsuit or about settling.

"We at the HSP find that completely unacceptable. We feel that Croatia must not give up its lawsuit against Serbia because it is the only right way to find the truth."

At today's session the HSP announced it would move a bill of amendments to the Privatisation Act. Djapic said the bill was aimed at providing for a stronger influence of local self-government units in the creation of the economic policy.
