VOJNIC, March 9 (Hina) - The Norwegian Ambassador to Croatia, Elisabeth Waalas, and the deputy permanent representative of the United Nations' Development Programme (UNDP) in Croatia, Alessandro Fracassetti, on Friday inaugurated a
reconstructed water supply system in Bukovica near Vojnic, 70 kilometres south of Zagreb.
VOJNIC, March 9 (Hina) - The Norwegian Ambassador to Croatia,
Elisabeth Waalas, and the deputy permanent representative of the United
Nations' Development Programme (UNDP) in Croatia, Alessandro Fracassetti, on
Friday inaugurated a reconstructed water supply system in Bukovica near Vojnic,
70 kilometres south of Zagreb. Over 1,200 residents of this
formerly war-stricken area are now connected to the water supply system.
The reconstruction cost 1,520,000 kuna, and the first stage of the
project was funded by the Croatian Transport and Development Ministry, the
municipal authorities, the Croatian Regional Development Fund and the European
Investment Fund. In the final stage of the project, the UNDP and the Norwegian
government joined in the financing of reconstruction works that took four
years.
