The delegation informed Mesic about outstanding issues such as media representation of ethnic minorities and the incomplete implementation of the Constitutional Law on National Minorities' Rights with regard to their representation in state administration, police, the army and judicial bodies.
Mesic and his guests also discussed the implementation of the law regulating the usage of ethnic minorities' languages and scripts.
The delegation said that despite some difficulties, significant progress had been made in the promotion of minority rights in Croatia, which had ensured the expansion of those rights and encouraged their inclusion in Croatia's public and political life.
The delegation was particularly satisfied with the exercise of minority rights in the area of cultural autonomy, which this year will be financed with budgetary funds amounting to 35 million kuna.
