ZAGREB, Feb 28 (Hina) - Prime Minister Ivo Sanader on Wednesday met a delegation of the Croatian Journalists Association (HND), led by Association president Dragutin Lucic and vice presidents Zdenko Duka and Luka Brailo, for talks on
media legislation, the Croatian Government stated in a press release.
ZAGREB, Feb 28 (Hina) - Prime Minister Ivo Sanader on Wednesday
met a delegation of the Croatian Journalists Association (HND), led by
Association president Dragutin Lucic and vice presidents Zdenko Duka and Luka
Brailo, for talks on media legislation, the Croatian Government stated in a
press release. They also discussed the adjustment of Croatian media
legislation to European Union standards.
Describing freedom of the media as a pillar of democracy, Prime
Minister Sanader said that his cabinet supported the independence of the
Croatian media through relevant laws in whose drafting the HND is engaged.
The delegation informed PM Sanader about preparations for an election
convention of the European Journalists Federation scheduled for 23-25 March in
Zagreb.
