VUKOVAR, Feb 27 (Hina) - Vukovar-Srijem County prefect Bozo Galic and the head of the South Backa Administrative District (Vojvodina), Svetlana Selakovic, in Vukovar on Tuesday signed a joint memorandum of understanding aimed at
establishing good-neighbourly relations and regional and cross-border cooperation.
VUKOVAR, Feb 27 (Hina) - Vukovar-Srijem County prefect Bozo Galic
and the head of the South Backa Administrative District (Vojvodina), Svetlana
Selakovic, in Vukovar on Tuesday signed a joint memorandum of understanding
aimed at establishing good-neighbourly relations and regional and cross-border
cooperation. The memorandum foresees cooperation between the
Croatian county and the Serbian administrative district in the economy,
transport, border security, health system and the protection of national
minorities, in accordance with the agreements the two countries have signed so
far.
Asked if the memorandum solved the demarcation issue between Croatia
and Serbia, notably the status of the the Sarengrad and Vukovar islands,
Selakovic said the border must be regulated at the state level.
Also present at the signing were Croatian Consul General in Subotica
Davor Vidis and Serbian Consul General in Vukovar Bojana Ristic.
