KOSOVO, Jan 31 (Hina) - Swedish Foreign Minister Karl Bildt said
in Pristina on Wednesday that the UN chief envoy Martti Ahrtisaari would bring
to Pristina and Belgrade on Friday a working document and not the final
solution to the Kosovo status. After talks with Kosovo President
Fatmir Sejdiu, Bildt said that the announcement of Ahtisaari's proposal on
Friday would mean the beginning of a new dialogue on the final solution. He
added that Sweden would advocate a position in accordance with the European
Union.
Sejdiu said that the process of defining Kosovo's status was entering
the final stage, the result of which would be an independent Kosovo.
Heavy security measures are in force in that UN-govern province.
