PRISTINA, Feb 5 (Hina) - The United States believes that the draft
plan for Kosovo is an excellent proposal and that it deserves full support,
the US envoy to the Kosovo status talks, Frank Wisner said in Pristina on
Monday after separate meetings with Kosovo President Fatmir Sejdiu and Kosovo's
negotiating team. Wisner told Kosovo's negotiators that although
the plan, proposed by UN envoy Martti Ahtisaari, did not specify the future
status of the province, they would not be disappointed with a final proposal
that would be sent to the UN Security Council.
Ahtisaari has invited Belgrade and Pristina for further consultations
in Vienna on February 13 before he sends his plan to the Security Council.
Wisner said he was travelling to Moscow later this week to discuss the
Kosovo issue with Russian officials.
Earlier in the day the US envoy met Kosovo Premier Agim Ceku.
