The motto of the 23rd week of prayer in Croatia is "Open our ears and loosen our tongues", taken from the Gospel according to St. Mark.
The event was attended by representatives of the Serb Orthodox Church, the Roman Catholic Church, the Baptist Church, the Macedonian Orthodox Church, the Reformed Church and the Evangelical Church.
The Christian dignitaries called for the need to renew unity in the 21st century Christian Europe, understanding, tolerance and respect for differences.
The Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, which is observed every year from 18 to 25 January, was initiated in 1908 by the Rev. Paul Watson, co-founder of the Society of the Atonement.
