Commenting on the draft of a revised budget which the government presented earlier in the day, the Opposition leader said that it was an impossible attempt to keep everybody satisfied in this difficult situation.
He said that citizens would pay the price eventually.
Expressing "concern and anxiousness" about what would happen in the next 12 months, Milanovic said Croatia was one of the few countries in Europe to have stubbornly refused to make fiscal adjustments and reduce public spending in the last two years.
Calling for cuts in state expenditures, he accused the current government of failing to render the state administration more efficient.
