As regards the accusations about the police being too slow in conducting pre-investigative activities regarding the associations' claims that Mayor Bandic abused his powers and office in the Varsavska Street case, the interior ministry gave in the statement a review of the chronology of the police activities.
The ministry says that the police are swiftly and effectively responding to requests which the national Office for the Suppression of Corruption and Organised Crime (USKOK) refers to them in the case of the Varsavska Street.
The ministry recalls that it is USKOK which manages and co-ordinates the pre-investiigative measures in this case,
