According to a press release the association issued on Tuesday following the HUP executive committee's session on Monday, trends of decreasing economic production and domestic demand decline as evidenced in a slump in retail trade, could potentially badly affect job creation in the real sector and a pace of the collection of state revenues.
Consequently the state may face problems in paying pensions and salaries, the HUP said in the press release.
Therefore this association supports the government's Economic Recovery Programme which should reverse negative economic trends and create conditions for taking the country out of the crisis.
The HUP says that the support has practical and not political goal and aims to maintain jobs and help companies to weather the crisis.
Regarding the Labour Act (ZOR) and a possible referendum which is required by the trade unions, the HUP says that the current ZOR does not suit anybody.
The employers' association recalls that during the adjustment of the labour legislation to European standards the HUP proposed raising questions of interest but that trade unions and the government opposed it.
"Such an important law is changed only if there is a consensus," the HUP said adding that making compromises would bring them nowhere.
If there is no strength for a consensus from all sides, then the public should be clearly informed of who is not ready for agreement," the press release reads.
