Addressing the event, the Croatian ministry's state secretary Rudjer Friganovic described Italy as Croatia's top trading partner in the last decade.
He also briefed the forum participants about stimulating measures for investors in Croatia and about the Croatian government's Economic Recovery Programme.
In 2009, Italy's share in Croatia's trade with foreign countries was 18 percent. Croatia's export to Italy made up 19 percent of Croatian exports in 2009, while imports from Italy made up 15.4 percent of Croatian imports.
The exchange of goods and services between Croatia and Italy in 2009 totalled EUR 3.77 billion and EUR 958 million in the first quarter of 2010.
Italy is the sixth biggest foreign investor in Croatia, with investments of EUR 1.06 billion from 1993 to 2009.
