Addressing an international conference on the topic "How to Do Business with NATO" in Zagreb on Friday, Jandrokovic said that the alliance helped its members to enjoy a long-lasting period of peace which facilitated the economic prosperity and added that living standards in NATO member-states were among the highest ones in the world.
Jandrokovic said that economies of the European Union and the United States made up 58 percent of global Gross Domestic Product.
He went on to say that central and eastern European countries which joined NATO in 1999 and 2004 had seen an economic boom.
Despite the ongoing economic crisis, Croatia can expect positive economic effects from its admission to NATO, he said.
New markets are being available to our entrepreneurs and there are possibilities for doing business in the military industry as well as in other related sectors, according to Jandrokovic.
He pledged assistance to Croatian companies in a bid to improve their competitiveness so that they can join the business community of the 28-strong alliance.
