SINJ, June 29 (Hina) - The High Commercial Court in Zagreb has
turned down a request by the owner of the Sinj-based thread factory Dalmatinka
Nova, the Ladini brothers, for the exemption of all judges at the Split-based
Commercial Court in a motion for launching bankruptcy proceedings in the
factory. The Italian owners, the Ladini brothers, hold that the
judges would be biased towards workers, a legal representatives of the
factory's employees, Zoran Vujanovic, told Hina on Monday.
The Zagreb High Commercial Court overruled the brothers' requests as
unfounded, and a new hearing before the Split court has been set for 14 July,
Vujanovic said.
Being dissatisfied with the state of affairs in the factory and with
belated salaries, the factory's workers filed an application for bankruptcy
with the Commercial Court in Split in late 2008.
